New Show at the Affinity Gallery in Saskatoon

Country Wives & Daughters of the Country: Metis Women of This Land Works by Leah Marie Dorion recognize women’s special relationship with the land.  Her imagery speaks of traditional teachings, cultural knowledge and values, and are based on historical accounts.  The paintings will be augumented with cultural artifacts.  On display October 23 – December 5, 2015.  Artist talk November 7, 2015 at 2 pm.

Carol Story – Abstraction

Abstraction – The name says it all for this unique, contemporary piece. Stitched area is 6 inch square on 24 count Congress Cloth using Kreiniks Silk Mori, Silk Serica, Metallic #4 Braid, Overdyed floss and adorned with Mill Hill seed and bugle beads. This dramatic, geometric piece changes when hung on the diagonal as opposed to square. It comes in different canvas stitches along with some bargello.
